Different starting points

Submagic is a caption and editing tool for short videos. Its plans cap each video at 2 minutes (Starter), 5 minutes (Pro) or 30 minutes (Business), and count videos per month. Turning a long video into clips is a separate feature called Magic Clips. Submagic's pricing page mentions Magic Clips limits only under its custom plan and does not list a price for it.

Vidulk starts from the long video. Paste a link from YouTube, TikTok, Twitch or a podcast, or upload a file, and the AI transcribes it, scores the moments and cuts the clips. You then edit captions and layout in the same project.

Pricing

Submagic Starter is $19 per member a month, or $12 billed yearly, for 15 videos. Pro is $39, or $23 yearly, for 40 videos. Business is $69, or $41 yearly, for 100 videos. All paid plans have no watermark.

Vidulk Unlimited is $9.99 a week, $19.99 a month or $179 a year on the web, with no video count. Credits are $7 for one video and $19 for ten.

Where Submagic is stronger

Submagic includes B-roll (free on Starter, Storyblocks on Pro and Business), AI auto zooms, bad-take and silence removal, clean audio, social publishing, brand kits and an API. Vidulk has punch zoom and its own caption and branding tools, but no B-roll library, no social publishing and no API. Submagic also lets you upload from a phone browser, though its help center says editing is meant for a computer.

If you film short clips and want them captioned and dressed up, Submagic fits. If you have long recordings to cut down, start at vidulk.com/app.

Who should pick which

Choose Submagic if you are a coach, marketer or business owner who records short videos on purpose and wants them captioned, zoomed and given B-roll quickly, and you work at a computer. Choose Vidulk if you have long recordings, such as podcasts, streams, interviews or lectures, and want them cut into many clips, edited on a phone or in a browser, at a flat price with no per-video length limit.

Both tools remove the watermark on paid plans. A free Vidulk account adds a small watermark to story videos and does not clip, so test Vidulk with a single $7 credit.

Switching from Submagic to Vidulk

  2. Sign in at https://www.vidulk.com/app/login with Apple or Google, or install the iPhone or Android app and use the same account.
  3. Upload the full-length recording instead of pre-cut short videos, or paste its link.
  4. Let the AI pick the moments or set clip lengths yourself, then adjust captions, layout, hook title and music in the editor.
  5. Export in 720p, 1080p or 4K and post. Buy a $7 credit to test one video before you commit to Unlimited.

Vidulk works on iPhone, Android and the web with one account.
