How to set clip lengths yourself or edit a whole video

Turn off AI Recommended on the import screen to choose the minimum and maximum clip length, the number of clips and the categories. To edit a whole video without cutting it into clips, start it from the Editor tab instead of Import.

Applies to: iPhone and Android app, Web app. Updated October 14, 2026.

Steps

  1. On the import screen, turn off AI Recommended.
  2. Set Min clip length (15 to 115 seconds) and Max clip length (20 to 120 seconds). The defaults are 30 and 90.
  3. Set how many clips you want, from 3 to 20 (default 10). The web calls it Number of clips, the phone Target clips.
  4. Optional: pick the categories you prefer and add speaker names.
  5. Press Start Processing.

Add a clip by hand

On the project's Detected Clips page, press Add Clip. On the web, tap the transcript line where the clip should start, then the line where it should end, and press Create.

Edit a whole video (no AI clipping)

  • Web: open Editor, then under New edit use Pick a video, Pick an audio file or paste a link. Choose the Video Language and press Start.
  • Phone: open the Editor tab, use Pick video from device or paste a link, and confirm Start editing?.

The whole video opens in the editor with auto captions. It uses 1 credit, or nothing extra with Unlimited. Long streams such as Twitch VODs cannot be opened as one edit; import them to get clips instead.
