How to change aspect ratio and reframe a clip in Vidulk

Pick 9:16, 1:1, 4:5 or 16:9, then either crop to fill the frame (with auto-reframe on the speaker's face) or choose Show whole video to keep the full picture with blur, a picture or black around it.

Applies to: iPhone and Android app, Web app. Updated October 14, 2026.

Steps

  1. Pick the shape. On the web it is Shape above the preview. On the phone it is Aspect ratio in the Crop tab.
  2. Open framing. On the web press Crop & frame. On the phone open the Reframe tab.
  3. Choose Fill the frame to crop. Slide the crop position, or use Auto reframe on face (web) or Auto-frame on faces (phone) to follow the speaker.
  4. Or choose Show whole video and pick what fills the space around it: Blur, Picture or Black.

Good to know

  • Show whole video appears only when the video's shape differs from the frame, for example a landscape video in a 9:16 clip.
  • A background picture added on the phone stays on that phone. Web exports use the blur until you upload the picture on the web too.
  • The web preview blurs approximately; the export blurs the moving video exactly.
